Menopause Naturally


There’s been a lot of talk recently about menopause and this is great!


But ......


I do think there has been a huge lean towards HRT. I’m not against HRT as such, but I hardly ever hear about how to get through the menopause naturally 🤔


So – I’ve decided to talk about it myself!


There are SO many things you can do to help yourself through this time. I’m not saying it will always be easy, but if you don’t want to go down the HRT route then there are other options.


Menopause is, after all, a NATURAL process, so wanting to get through this phase in your life naturally makes sense.


In the US they refer to "HRT" (hormone replacement therapy), but typically, it is now referred to as "HT" (hormone therapy). They’ve taken the word ‘replacement’ out.


We naturally lose oestrogen as we go through the menopause so we aren’t ‘replacing’ something that would naturally be there. It’s the word ‘replacement’ I think that was misleading – it leads you to think you’re low in this hormone so it needs ‘replacing’.


Whilst there’s no denying the effect lowered oestrogen levels can have on your menopausal symptoms, menopause itself IS natural so you're not ‘replacing’ the hormones that would naturally be there; you're not deficient in hormones - you are naturally producing less 0estrogen (although your body will still continue to produce a little amount after menopause).


It’s good to see the issue from all angles so you can decide what’s best for YOU. It really is an individual thing.
